Hill House Takes Delivery of New Anti-COVID Machine
Bursar Karen Wigglesworth was delighted to take delivery on Friday of the school’s new ‘Virosafe’ Ozone machine. The machine is already being used throughout the school on a rolling programme. Mrs Wigglesworth outlined its purpose, saying ‘the Virosafe works for different lengths of time depending on the size of the room, and produces and emits an appropriate amount of ozone, which kills any virus in the room. The ozone itself is then neutralised by the machine. We are delighted to be able to add this process to the many other procedures we have in place for making sure we keep the staff and pupils as safe as possible at this time. I am grateful to our friends at Rejus Cleaning for helping us secure this machine at a time of such high demand, and for training our staff so quickly in its use.'
Headmaster David Holland can testify to its ease of use, having deployed it himself throughout the Sixth Form Centre and Music School over the weekend. ‘Obviously we will be using it after hours, behind locked doors once the normal deep cleaning has been done, and there are no children on site. It is as simple as calculating the volume of a room, choosing the appropriate programme, and pressing ‘start’. The room has the slight hint of a swimming pool smell afterwards, but nothing more!' The Virosafe destroys bacteria and viruses, but uses no chemicals and leaves no residues on surfaces.
