MP Visit

We were delighted to host Nick Fletcher MP, the Member of Parliament for Doncaster Don Valley, as a wider part of "Parliament Week" and the Youth Parliament's initiative "Make your Mark".

Nick had previously been at the school for our Any Questions event in the run up to the December 2019 election - Nick became the first ever Conservative Member to represent the constituency which incorporates the school site. Nick spoke firstly in an assembly to Senior School pupils from Year 10 to Upper Sixth where, after a warm reception from the pupils and the Head Boy and Girl, he fielded pupils' questions covering topics such as lockdown, free school meals and the current challenges to the government.

Nick then gave up more of his precious time to speak to the A Level Politics students and our senior school leaders. Here Nick talked passionately about his role and time as an MP in Westminster, opportunities for young people and his vision for the country post Covid.

We would like to thank Nick for taking the time to visit, it certainly gave our pupils an insight into life as an MP.
