Lent Term Ends on a High Note with House Music

On Friday 13 February, we rounded off the first half of term with the wonderful House Music Competition.

This much-loved annual event brings together the four houses of Hill House for an afternoon of music and singing, enjoyed by pupils and staff alike. It is the only House Competition that involves every single member of the school from Year 1 upwards, making it a truly special occasion in the school calendar.

Each house performed a range of songs across several categories, including Junior Performance, Solos/Duos/Trios, and a House Hymn. The competition culminated in four spectacular whole-house performances, with this year’s theme being From Stage and Screen.

With hundreds of pupils taking to the stage for the final performances, the event requires careful organisation and plenty of rehearsal time. However, the result is always worth it, as the electric atmosphere creates a truly memorable culmination to the afternoon.

Congratulations to Field House, who won the House Music Competition for the second year running. The trophy was proudly awarded to the Head of Field House, Oliver Scott-Simons.
