Hill House Pupil Selected for Prestigious Yorkshire Cricket Programme

Hill House School is delighted to announce that Year 9 pupil, India Leach, has been selected for the Yorkshire Girls’ Emerging Player Programme (EPP) – one of just 12 young cricketers to be chosen across the county this year.

The Emerging Player Programme identifies and supports high-performing county players, typically aged 13–16, who have the potential to excel in the future. The initiative bridges the gap between junior club cricket and the Yorkshire Academy, giving talented young athletes a taste of the professional environment.

As part of the programme, India will benefit from specialist cricket coaching, strength and conditioning training, sports psychology support, and tailored nutrition guidance. This level of professional development is designed to help players progress through the Yorkshire Academy and, potentially, into the Yorkshire first team.

India’s selection reflects not only her skill and dedication to the game but also her determination to continue developing as a player.

Head of Cricket at Hill House School, Mr Sam Owen praised India’s achievement, commenting: “We are incredibly proud of India’s success. To be recognised at this level is a fantastic accomplishment, and we are excited to watch her cricketing journey unfold. She is a wonderful role model for younger pupils at Hill House."
