Speech Day 2025: Celebrating Achievement and School Community!

On Wednesday 9 July, Hill House School held its annual Speech Day, a much-anticipated event that brought together pupils, parents, staff and special guests to celebrate the achievements and milestones of the school community.

The day began with the Junior Prizegiving in the morning, where pupils were recognised for their hard work and successes over the past year. Attendees were treated to exceptional musical performances from pupils across the year groups, setting an uplifting tone for the day.

Following a delightful lunch for parents and guests in the Dining Hall, guests enjoyed a range of creative activities including Drama, Art and Music, showcasing the depth of talent and enthusiasm among Hill House pupils.

In the afternoon, the Senior Prizegiving ceremony took centre stage. Once again, the audience was inspired by stirring musical performances and thoughtful speeches that highlighted the school’s values and achievements. A special moment was dedicated to celebrating staff members who marked 20 years of service at Hill House, as well as paying tribute to those stepping down from long held and impactful roles within the school.

This year’s ceremony featured a unique twist: the traditional ‘Vote of Thanks’ by the Head Boy and Head Girl was delivered in a different format, as the day coincided with an exciting World Challenge expedition to Cambodia.

To close the day, Year 11 and Upper Sixth pupils, along with their families, were invited to a celebratory reception in the Sixth Form Centre. It was a fitting finale to mark their milestone year and to officially welcome Upper Sixth leavers into the growing Hill House Alumni community.

Speech Day 2025 was a wonderful celebration of achievement, dedication and togetherness – a true reflection of the Hill House spirit.
