Hill House Pupil Selected for Prestigious DofE Award

We are proud to announce that Upper Sixth pupil Alex Idle-Crane has been selected as one of just 30 UK Youth Ambassadors for the Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award - a prestigious national programme that empowers young people through personal development and community service.

Each year, a select group of passionate DofE participants are chosen to become Youth Ambassadors, championing the award and ensuring the voices of young people are heard. Alex’s appointment recognises her dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to inspiring others to begin or continue their own DofE journeys.

As a Youth Ambassador, Alex will have the opportunity to represent the DofE at a wide range of events throughout the year, locally, nationally, and even internationally. From online forums to high-profile engagements, she’ll play an active role in shaping the future of the Award.

Her responsibilities will include working with various teams across the charity, including External Affairs and Fundraising. She may be involved in high-impact events such as Youth Without Limits Live: Beyond the CV, Gold Award Celebrations, and even Political Party Conferences. Whether speaking in front of an audience, networking with stakeholders, or helping behind the scenes, Alex will be making a meaningful contribution to the DofE’s mission.

Mrs Frisby, Head of DofE at Hill House, commented:

“This is a fantastic achievement for Alex! The role will give her the chance to further develop her skills and confidence, while becoming part of a remarkable network of like-minded young people across the UK. Together, they will help shape the future of the DofE and inspire many others to begin their own Award journey.”
