Hill House Pupil Cast in West End Role as Oliver Twist

Hill House School is delighted to announce that Year 7 pupil William Barker has been cast in the lead role of Oliver Twist in Cameron Mackintosh’s West End production of Oliver!

William has been rehearsing tirelessly for the last six weeks to prepare for his much-anticipated opening night tonight (Thursday 21 May, 2025) at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s theatre district.

While taking centre stage in this iconic role, William will continue his academic studies with the full support of the school so that he can balance his education with this exciting professional engagement.

“We are incredibly proud of William,” said Headmaster Mr David Holland. "This marks a significant milestone in his performing arts journey. He has previously shone in numerous school productions, most recently giving a memorable performance as the Fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof.”

“His achievement is the result of his dedication, talent, and hard work. He is a remarkable young performer, and we look forward to supporting him throughout this exciting chapter.”

The production of Oliver! promises to be a spectacular show, and we wish William every success as he brings this beloved character to life for audiences across London.
