Hill House Pupils Enjoy Unforgettable Day at Leicester Tigers

On Friday 9 May 2025, 50 pupils from Years 7 and 8 had the incredible opportunity to take part in a memorable trip to the home of Leicester Tigers – Welford Road Stadium.
The afternoon and evening were packed with exciting activities, giving our children a unique behind-the-scenes look at one of the most iconic rugby clubs in the country.
First, pupils took to the famous Welford Road pitch for a specially arranged training session, where they were put through their paces with the Leicester Tigers’ community coaches. This was followed by a guided stadium tour, including a glimpse into the first team’s changing room which was fully prepared for the evening's match between Leicester Tigers and Sale Sharks.
After a bite to eat and time to enjoy the bustling pre-match atmosphere in the Plaza area, pupils had the opportunity to take part in the Flag Shaker Experience, waving the Leicester Tigers flag in the centre of the pitch whilst the players came out! The children then cheered on Leicester Tigers in what proved to be an exciting Premiership clash.
Mrs Katie Vickers, Director of Sport at Hill House, said:
“It was an absolutely fantastic day for our pupils. Opportunities like this really bring sport to life; stepping onto a professional pitch, touring the facilities, and then watching elite players in action gives them such a powerful sense of inspiration. I am incredibly proud of how our pupils represented the school, and we are grateful to Leicester Tigers for this unforgettable experience.”
Hill House School has previously announced that it will be hosting Leicester Tigers Rugby Camps this summer, a brilliant opportunity for young players to develop their skills with expert coaching. Places are available to book now!
