Catering at Hill House School
At Hill House School, we understand the important role that nutritious, enjoyable meals play in supporting our pupils' wellbeing, development and success in the classroom. Our catering partner, Accent Catering, shares our commitment to providing high-quality food that is both nourishing and appealing to children. All meals are freshly prepared on site using responsibly sourced ingredients, with menus carefully designed to provide a balanced and varied diet.
We believe that mealtimes should be an opportunity for children to explore new foods and broaden their tastes. Throughout the year, Accent Catering introduces themed menus and special dining events that celebrate different cultures and cuisines, helping to make lunchtime an enjoyable part of the school day.
Sustainability and responsible sourcing are also central to Accent's approach, with a focus on supporting British farmers, reducing food waste and minimising unnecessary plastics.
The safety of our pupils is paramount. Hill House and Accent Catering takes food allergies and special dietary requirements extremely seriously, with all menus clearly labelled and catering teams regularly trained to ensure every child can dine safely and confidently.
Together with Accent Catering, we are proud to provide a dining experience that supports healthy lifestyles, encourages positive eating habits and gives pupils the energy they need to make the most of their day.
Our Catering Manager, Darren Danby, leads a team of 11 staff to feed over 900 pupils and staff a day for lunch. Each day, pupils can choose from a wide selection of freshly prepared meals, including hot main courses, vegetarian and vegan options, freshly made salads & soups, sandwiches, seasonal fruit and homemade desserts. All meals are prepared on site using responsibly sourced ingredients, with menus carefully reviewed by a qualified nutritionist to support healthy growth, learning and wellbeing.
