U11 Boys Celebrate Success at Hymer’s 7s Rugby Competition

Congratulations to the Hill House U11 boys following an excellent performance at the Hymer’s 7s Rugby Competition earlier this week.

The team faced strong opposition throughout the day, taking on Dame Allan’s, GSAL, St Peter’s, King’s Worcester, Birkdale and Hymers. After a series of closely contested matches, including narrow losses, two draws and some impressive victories, Hill House secured fourth place in their group and progressed to the Bowl competition.

In the Bowl semi-final against Richmond House, Hill House found themselves two tries behind early on. Showing great determination, the team fought back with two second-half tries to level the score and send the match into extra time. In a dramatic ‘golden try’ finish, Hill House produced a superb length-of-the-field effort, playing quick, attacking rugby to secure their place in the final.

They then faced Ashville College in the Bowl final and delivered another strong performance to claim victory and lift the trophy.

With the U11 rugby season now complete, it is fantastic to see the team’s hard work over a long season rewarded. The boys have developed tremendously throughout the year and, if they continue to work hard, this group shows great promise for successful senior school rugby seasons in the future!
