Hill House Pupil Returns to Inspire Future Musicians

Hill House School was delighted to welcome back former Head Boy, Joe Orme yesterday, as he returned to share his experiences and insights into life at a conservatoire with a group of aspiring young musicians.

Joe, who studied at the Royal College of Music, was joined by his partner Maya Mitra. Together, they spoke to pupils from Year 7 through to Upper Sixth about their journey through the application process and what day-to-day life is like at a conservatoire.

Their visit offered valuable guidance and inspiration to Hill House’s talented musicians, many of whom are considering pursuing music at a higher level. Impressively, 100% of Hill House pupils who apply to a conservatoire are successful in their applications, reflecting the school’s strong musical foundation and dedicated support for aspiring performers.

Music at Hill House continues to go from strength to strength, supported by the opening of the school’s bespoke Music School last year. This fantastic facility enhances the school’s already vibrant music provision, offering the subject right up to A Level and providing countless opportunities for pupils to perform at concerts and events throughout the year.

Head of Sixth Form (Futures), Miss Chappell, said:

“It was wonderful to welcome Joe back to Hill House and to see how far he has come. The knowledge and experience that Joe and Maya shared with our pupils offered a real insight into what can be achieved through dedication, talent, and a love of music.”
