Hill House MUN Team Shines at 25th Anniversary Cheadle Hulme Conference

A determined group of 12 Hill House Model United Nations pupils travelled to Cheadle Hulme School to take part in the first MUN conference of the academic year.

This year’s event was especially significant, marking the 25th anniversary of CHS hosting one of the UK’s pioneering MUN conferences.

The atmosphere was electric as the General Assembly opened in a packed room, filled with more than 500 pupils representing schools from around the world. For several of our delegates, this was their very first experience of MUN, making the weekend especially exciting!

Hill House pupils represented both Sweden and Tunisia across a wide range of committees, including Sport, Conflict Resolution, Law, and Human Rights. Saturday saw delegates immersed in committee debates, while Sunday concluded with an intense emergency debate in forum sessions.

The weekend was a resounding success for Hill House, with our pupils earning several prestigious awards:

  • Emily Bingley (Year 11) – Best Young Delegate (Tunisia, Human Rights Council)
  • Isla Bell (Year 11) – Commended Delegate (Tunisia, Environment)
  • Best Delegation in their Forum – Tunisia

These achievements highlight the talent and commitment of the Hill House MUN team, and we are delighted to celebrate their hard work. Looking ahead, the group is already preparing for four more conferences this year, with the next taking place at Stonyhurst School in January.

Congratulations to all who took part!
