Mrs Rogerson Joins Prestigious HMC in Significant Recognition

Hill House School is proud to announce that Mrs Caroline Rogerson, Head of Senior School, has been accepted as an affiliate member of HMC (The Heads’ Conference), the prestigious professional body representing Heads of the world’s leading independent schools. Mrs Rogerson now joins Hill House Headmaster Mr David Holland as a member of the UK’s most respected network of educational leaders.
Affiliate membership of HMC is reserved for deserving Heads of Senior Schools who work under an overarching Headteacher or Principal. This national recognition reflects Mrs Rogerson’s outstanding leadership, her unwavering commitment to academic excellence, and her continued dedication to pupil development and wellbeing.
Speaking about the announcement, Mrs Rogerson said: “It is a privilege to be welcomed into HMC and to join a network of educational leaders who share a passion for excellence in independent education. I look forward to engaging in the professional dialogue, development, and collaboration that HMC fosters.”
Mr Holland welcomed the news, saying: “Mrs Rogerson’s acceptance into HMC is a well-deserved recognition of her dynamic leadership in the Senior School and a celebration of the incredible momentum we’re building at Hill House. Her membership strengthens the school’s high regard within the Independent School sector and reflects the exceptional quality of our whole team.”
This exciting recognition comes during a period of remarkable achievement for Hill House. In December 2024, the school was named Independent Secondary School of the Year North by The Sunday Times’ Parent Power Guide, following record-breaking academic performance in both A Levels and GCSEs, achieving well above the national average. Beyond the classroom, pupils have excelled in a wide range of co-curricular areas, winning national rugby titles, securing regional hockey success, and achieving outstanding results in ABRSM and LCM music exams. The school also celebrated a record number of Duke of Edinburgh Gold and Silver Awards.
Adding to these accolades, a January 2025 analysis in The Telegraph named Hill House one of the UK’s best-value independent schools, highlighting the exceptional outcomes achieved relative to fees and reinforcing the school’s reputation for delivering excellence in an inclusive, aspirational environment.
Mrs Rogerson’s appointment to HMC not only reflects her personal accomplishments but also signals another step forward for Hill House as one of the North’s leading independent schools.
