Upper Sixth Cranedale Field Studies

Upper Sixth Biology students have enjoyed an activity-packed residential at the Cranedale Field Studies Centre in Kirby Grindalythe this week, gaining fieldwork and practical skills to improve their knowledge and understanding of ecology.

The students used a variety of methods to catch organisms such as moth traps, pitfall traps for small invertebrates, and Longworth traps for small mammals and identified different species using identification keys.

Students also enjoyed investigating sand dune succession at Bridlington beach and freshwater river sampling.
