Hill House Hosts Doncaster Cross Country Competition 2024!

Over 250 Doncaster children came together on Saturday (27 April) to compete in the Doncaster and District Cross Country Competition.

Pupils from sixteen schools from across the district competed in the competition hosted by Hill House School, across four team categories including U9 Girls, U9 Boys, U11 Girls and U11 Boys.

The course consisted of a 1km distance for the U9s and 1.2km for the U11 groups, featuring a lap of the sports field and a route through the adjoining woodland trail. Children were cheered on to the finish line by hundreds of families and spectators who turned out to show their support.

Mrs Katie Vickers, Director of Sport at Hill House School said, “It was fantastic to welcome children from schools across the area to compete in this event. The ground was wet, but the sun was shining and there were some fantastic displays of resilience and determination by the runners, resulting in some of the fastest paces we have ever seen in this event. It was a wonderful atmosphere, and the children gave their all.”
